What do you think?
OUR thinking hats are in place over the potential introduction of a Book Subscriptions service at the Archway. But before we jump in with both feet we would welcome some customer feedback.
The idea follows the trend amongst independent booksellers in helping readers to identify books that fit their specific reading preferences and have them delivered to their door on an ongoing basis. A book subscription can also make an ideal present for a friend or relative — and provide real long-term enjoyment.
This is how it might work for those interested:
* You complete a short questionnaire to identify what books most enjoy – or simply chat it through with one of our team
* You decide how much you want to spend and how long you would like the subscription to last. You might, for example, commit to a book per month over three months, six months or a year.
* We at the Archway team put our heads together and talk to experts in the trade to hand-pick your first book which can be posted to you or collected.
* We call you for feedback before your second book is due and adjust our thinking accordingly.
If the book subscription is a gift we will give you a voucher of the appropriate value to give to your friend / relative. He or she then liaises with us over their preferences and they receive their books gift-wrapped. We think a book subscription would make a particularly good gift for a grandchild.
Please take a few moments to email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) to give us your thoughts. Would it work for you? Would it make a useful gift?
